Post 500!! + BOOOOOO-TAE (nsfw?)

Whooooo Page 500! Although, I shouldn't be celebrating, I should be kicking myself that it took so long, but whatever. Umm lots of half naked lady drawings coming up. I've been looking through Brandon Graham's comix blog, the guy is incredible at making and finding excellent comics check it out: royalboiler on livejournal. Over the last few days I've read through every post up there, and everytime after a few posts I start squealing about how awesome and exciting comics are, so be warned.

Anyways, all of this stuff is greatly influenced by stuff I saw there.

This next one is sketch500.. took long enough.

Now for some digital doodles, just playing around mostly, I should have drawn more dinosaurs. You might have to full view these because I don't think I reduced the size oops.

these two were probably drawn at 8 in the morning after no sleep, so there's that.

And last the morning doodles, which are not drawn when I wake up, but get done at some point even if it's at 3 AM while listening to audio books. I found out my library has online eAudioBooks, so now I'm totally hooked on that, finished Childhood's End last night and started Ender's Game, I'm also hoping to listen to the original Conan the Barbarian stories soon, oh yeah, in the drawings above, the last few were drawn while watching Conan the Destroyer for the first time. Netflix doesn't have The Barbarian on insta-view so I'm having them ship it once I watch or don't watch this Goddard film I picked out for some reason Vivre Sa Vie? What was I thinking, only Arnold movies from now on.

Last I guess I'll put up these two half sheets I was doodling on, these were probably before all the stuff above and less planned. I started watching the Dirty Pair anime, now I think I need to order the Adam Warren comics if I can find them.

Now this is what I want to be able to do, Milo Manara is a master:

Later dudes!

!!Super Late!! Free Comic Book Day Comic!

Okay, I said I was going to post this yesterday if I didn't start coloring it which I didn't, but my internet was down until late at night so I decided I'd rather do it today, so finally here it is:

Hope it was worth at least part of the wait if anyone was waiting, I don't know. I'm also unsure why that guy is wearing a dokaka shirt, I really probably shouldn't have done that, but I was listening to Dokaka while inking that page and wanted the guy to have a shirt, so yeah.

Also, I decided that, after seeing James Sturms work during this quitting the internet thing he's been doing specifically THIS POST I wanted to make some little 4x6 paintings to put in a photo album too. So here are the first three, I'm going to try to do at least one of these each morning before I get on the internet. I'm not sure I'm set-up to quit completely.

That's all for now! Let me know what you thought of the comic guys!

Whoooooo PRRRRRR

Okay! Since I still haven't started working on coloring that comic here's some other stuff.

Let's start off with these digital scribbles:
I've been playing pokemon, so I'm wanting to draw them, but then I realize I have no clue what they look like, I don't know who is thinking about my Wooper referencing Qwantz, this whole image confuses me.

I'm happy with Ash and Geodude, and maybe the guy at the bottom, but the rest of this page scares me.

I saw How to Train Your Dragon, finally, really really fun just like everyone said, so I looked at Katie Rice's drawings of the movie, these next few images are obviously influenced by her work, oh and more pokemon.

Drinking and watching Star Wars, sorry.

And last a couple of ink painting things that were fun to make but not that successful.

Okay, if I don't start coloring the comic tomorrow I'll just upload it as the inks only and not worry about coloring it even though I do want to.

Also, if you have twitter, or if you were thinking about getting one, you totally should and we should be pals: @weflewairplanes

That's all for now.

Pen Doodles and Another Animation

I guess I haven't been doing much drawing the last week, even though I had finals, I did have two days completely open and the mornings on the weekend, but I guess I just let myself mess around and play video games and watch Party Down instead of drawing, so here's what I managed to get out in the last week.

I'm really happy with how this comic about fake pokemon turned out

I'm trying to learn to draw with regular pens, but it's so awkward for me.
My main problem is everything seems so scratchy and so many superfluous traceback lines because they don't have the weight variation that pencils or ink brushing do.

And this Bowie, today I've been listening to nothing but David Bowie and Talking Heads, except in the morning when I left The Authorities playing accidentally for an hour and half while I was picking up schoolwork.
And here is the final animation I did for my basic animation class

I animated the red shirted mannequin, made the annotations and arranged the musical elements.

I'll probably get my school work photographed tomorrow so hopefully I'll post that up sometime then.

I will also hopefully be excited after finally seeing How to Train Your Dragon tonight and will get on coloring that comic I was supposed to three weeks ago and have that up soon too, but we'll see.

Later Folks!
