Coloring

So first up, these are kind of older and a few were posted on here earlier, but I got them pasted into the sketchbook and there are at least a couple on each page that haven't been scanned at all so here goes:

These were on here just a few days ago, but they have some color now:

Then some more from the doodle book, that first spread was supposed to be David Cross and Bob Odenkirk, been watching back episodes of the Daily Show where they make appearances, not familiar enough with either to get a good likeness much less caricature:

EDIT: I want to not have that adult content thing clicked so I'm taking those figure drawings out, they'll show up on the flickr eventually .. and the top drawing, darn, that'll be up eventually to

Today I did nothing because my plans fell through and I didn't try to do anything while I waited for the not so surprising disappointment. Tomorrow I'll work harder, seriously today just disappeared from me.

Continuing Attempt

In my continuing efforts to make this blog more important than my flickr stream (although I don't think anyone regularly checks either, though I did get a comment from the awesome John Spumkin) .. anyways, here's what I did during downtime in class/between classes today:
This first one I had John K's Kaspar fresh in mind and although I definitely don't remember how to draw him, my bear ended up similar especially with the bee, I like the fur on those Kaspar bears, and also his fists are very solid when drawing things, I stopped hiding the hands but now I don't know what to do with them.

Edit: took that last image out because I don't want to click the adult content thing.

I also am considering this challenge I saw over on Bob Flynn's Drip Blog, but I don't know if I'll make it quite so intense since I do still have a lot of history reading to finish, plus I've been very slack in my construction. Anyways,
That's all fer now folks!

Slowing Down

Lots of school work that I put off for the weekend to catch up on so not much time for drawing, just a few small things drawn at work and during breaks from reading text books and writing history paper.

More digital practice/doodling:

These were drawn at work while waiting for tables to show up/leave

Plus a few in that little Moleskine:

Moar Digidoodles

Yesterday wasn't very productive, but here's some stuff, kind of wonky because I'm still not used to the tablet

Also, more of this silly sketchbook:

I need to do more studying less doodling, but it's too fun!

I've been using an 11x14 sketchbook but my scanner is too small and I don't have the patience to put images together, how do you take a decent picture of a sketchbook with a bottom of the line digital camera?

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

So yesterday, after managing to stay awake on only 6 hours of sleep (I normally need 8.5 to 9.5 to feel okay the next day) I read blogs for a while then spent the rest of the night doodling instead of doing anything productive.

More of this scrap thing. Then I pulled out the tablet and played around, I can see myself getting more comfortable with each sketch.
couldn't decide on a color scheme here:

This is my favourite, because of the boid.

Doodle Dump

So instead of trying to learn, work on school stuff, or sleep, I spent last night doodling whilst reading cartoonists blogs and watching videos on youtube.

This is just a quick "book" of scraps from the paper I cut up to use for construction practice stapled together so I could do precisely this with it. I actually have one more drawing in there but I don't like it, maybe if I fix it it can show up with the rest of the pages.

Then some doodles in this awful soft cover moleskine which I bought a year ago but never really liked or used, I'm trying to use it to see if I should just by the large hardback version or if I need the sketchbook version. The thin paper bothers me more in the scans than it does in person.

This is actually a couple days older, but was fun to make since I never use my tablet I wanted to try some things I learned to doodle, probably should have spent more time constructing the pose but I was more interested in getting the lines to look okay and coming up with colors to use.

Now, for fun things:

I was about to search for what I wanted to post but this was under recommended, I never watched much of this show, but now I kind of wish I had, the some of the character designs are really cool.

This is awesome,

This is kind of creepy, but the end is totally worth it

Monday Doodle Dump

I decided I'd rather bring my own paper to draw on, so not as much doodling on my notes, but here's a montage of all the past doodling with a couple newer ones from when I started to today.

Not much else to report, but I thought I'd repost some videos I liked from other websites, half because why not, and half because I want to show these to a friend but won't be able to remember the names:

This is really pretty

I don't know what I think of this album yet, I hope it's all this good, I wasn't paying attention when I listened to it earlier

I like this a lot too:
