Boids

And this song was stuck in my head last night:

A Story from North America

I'm now using this thing to collect videos that I like from various sources, if it didn't take so long to scan and resize things I'd consider scanning drawings, but that's a lot of time to spend.

Enjoy:

Drink Tè

So I've been drinking a lot of different teas lately. The Uncle Lee's USDA certified organic green tea I bought has a very eerie green tinge to it, while the Tazo Zen Green Tea has a rich golden color.

I'm rather pleased with how the letters I made for the tag came out, not quite as fond of the "Drink" though.

July

So I meant to upload everything when I actually last posted, but I forgot, so here's everything from the sketchbook on my desk, all the other scraps are already put away so I'm not going to dig them out.

Everything from August will be up tomorrow or tonight depending on how I manage my time.

There's also this track that I can't remember how I ran into, a side project of one of the members of Black Moth Super Rainbow, it's kind of scarier than regular BMSR.

Truck Sweat - tobacco

Also, I decided to haphazardly assemble a mix for songs I was listening to fairly often in July, but I'll post the list and a rapid share in the next post.

I want to be in your photos from last night

I'll upload new drawings before the days end, but right now I've updated my muxtape with the highlights of what I've been listening to lately. Just click the tape.

I plan to update every other week (probably on Tuesdays because I have the day off) I also can't figure out how I ended up with 10 fans of my muxtape when I only know one person with a muxtape.

Sideways Stickers Go

Wasn't that into this, I do like using that red marker though.

I really like this song:
japanese candy - Little Teeth

I think it Works For Me

Someone told me they liked the way I drew Batman, so I tried to figure out what that meant by drawing more Batmans.
I somehow managed to splash ink all over my desk while I was working on this page, only a little bit got on the paper, most of it was on my desk and the side panel of my bed, not sure what happened.

I made this at work in a little book that I found out how to make from a GTD system.
I'm not sure what any of that means, I just thought it'd be funny if Satan was tiny and the guy was singing that to him

I can't find an iMeem for the song I wanted to post, but you can hear it over here
I'm not sure exactly what it is that draws me to this song, there's no real hook, it's not getting stuck in my head, but I just want to listen to it over and over even though it's fairly forgettable; it's the whole Coke phenomenon all over again.

Here's a remix the same guys did for an Erland 0ye song.

The Hawk is Howling

Woah, how come I didn't notice this in my Feedreader before now:

The Sun Smells Too Loud - Mogwai -

I like the way this is going.

Out of Step

I was watching Ren and Stimpy and listening to Dinosaur Jr. until 3 in the morning.

Somehow I still managed to get up at 7, mostly because the music started playing again from my alarm and I was still into it.

Also, these Girl Talk music video mixtapes are incredible, thank you stereogum:

And then there's this that I found over at HRO:

At first I liked it a lot, then on a second listen later I decided it was a little too happy-go-lucky, but listening again I noticed the lyrics aren't as Wham-ish as I first thought, so all's well.

Also, my Great-Grandmother died on the 9th, and I'm only just hearing about it today; the weirdest part of that is that my mom acted like I knew already, I almost asked until she said 'memorial service'.

New Label

Scene from work, kind of, the guy left, so instead of drawing his co-workers, I drew a different table.

Drawn While Listening to Madlib's Shades of Blue

Also, my(via my mother) guinea pig died last night, he was old, but it's still really weird because he had seemed normal up until the last two days when he just stopped eating, I don't know what to say about this.

Storm-sa-com'n

The watercolor pencil didn't work how I thought it would, especially on slick paper.

Drawn at work, some people really freak out about clowns way too much, but that's not to say I won't have nightmares because of these drawings tonight.

I bought a hacky sack so I'd stay active, but it's already starting to fall apart, next time I'll look for something that isn't so cheap, it works pretty well though for now.

Hunter S. Thompson on the Charlie Rose show.

Also, this song is rockin' my world, their album is great:

A Milli

01, originally uploaded by We Flew Airplanes.

First page in my Moleskine notebook, that paper is worse than I thought, I thought a lot of people might have been exaggerating it's unfriendly nature with water, but they're not kidding, it just doesn't hold it at all, but it didn't seem to buckle much luckily.

It was '88

I drew this while I was trying to register at Cy-Fair CC, waiting for an hour and a half becuase the computers would not let me apply and the guy had to call the central office to get my name in the system, most people get this done in about 15 minutes. Damn bureaucracies.

Blueprint's album 1988 has really been growing on my.. I just noticed that I scanned the bookmark into that other picture..

Before that, that grunge, Seattle was just another city in our nation's capital.

So, this is a breakdown of how I've spent the time during which I've had the house to myself, in order of most time to least time:

1) Sleeping
2) Watching Daria
3) Looking up 90s grunge music videos on youtube
4) Watching the begginings of episodes of Daria and realizing I watched those episodes from that season less than a week ago.

I think I'm beginning to get a firm grasp of their journey through hell high school.

Too tired lazy to rig up the scanbox right now enjoy these gems from a golden age:

Wonderwall

Found this over on stereogum tonight, the weirdest part about this is that the past two days I've been scrounging youtube for hits from the 90s and definitely listened to the original a few times, strange to see the greatest rapper alive doing a cover of it, I think about synchronicity a lot.

Drawings tomorrow, or later on.

01

01, originally uploaded by We Flew Airplanes.

This is the first new page in the sketchbook I'm going to be using at home. It doesn't exactly fit on my scanner so a small border is cut off.

I was watching videos of acid jazz players on youtube, during half of this.

Also, my dog has a strange bump on one side of her face, it doesn't seem to be hurt too bad, you can touch it and she doesn't shy away or whine, but I feel sorry for her, it does make her look even cuter though in that hurt puppy kind of way.

0628-last page

0628-4, originally uploaded by We Flew Airplanes.

This is the last page from the sketchbook I started using in February. I feel like it was obviously rushed out, because I know it was.

In the beginning.

I always want to spell beginning as begging, and spell check doesn't seem to mind.

I set up my Flickr last night, I might put everything here too, but I'm probably too lazy for that. I feel obligated to have something here, so this is it.
