Page Upon Page

I'm not sure why I'm taking so long between updates, I guess I don't really need to drop a ton of doodles each time, I don't even have that many this time, I haven't been just drawing as much since I'm not in school anymore, I've just been doing the two daily comics, I finally got back in the groove of drawing just to draw on Monday and I started working on my story comic again yesterday, which is almost completely penciled, I just have one spread page and the cover to pencil and I think I have half of it inked already, or close to half, so I should be able to have that up sometime next week. So here are the doodles I did accomplish.

In other news, I found a new addiction:

This song:

And this horrible horrible web comic, that I found by searching for comics about James K. Polk after hearing the They Might be Giants song. This comic is incredibly offensive but in a good way if you're not super sensitive.

Yay Stuff x100 Again!

I meant to update a week ago, but whatever I've been.. not really busy but not completely lazy, just tired.

This next one is #300 in my sketchbook folder, I thought the last one was only a month ago, but now it's nearly two months, so I need to draw more obviously.

these are two characters for my comic about super powers, but they need to be reworked a lot, I haven't actually started on this it's still just an idea, but I like it, I want to make them more generic and suited to their powers though, because they don't really matter anyways.
I like the look of the Manilla scanned, but I hate drawing on it. Also, Kimbo surprise!!

I watched Star Trek again, I really like it a lot. Simon Pegg as Scotty makes me long for a sequel or new tv series.

I couldn't remember what Galactus looked like at all; he kind of ended up as a cross between himself and Akuma from Samurai Jack.
Civil War leaders drawn from powerpoint in History Class, plus a Van Buren!
I was heavily influenced by the amazing Hark, a Vagrant by Kate Beaton. I don't know enough history or English lit to get all the jokes but I love the ones I do, especially the last one on this page, my history teacher is from Tyler, TX.

Finally my Nightmare Theater 1930 fan comic:

I'm still making a daily comic at WakeUpAirplanes.tumblr.com but they're no longer really morning comics, more like late afternoon to almost the next day comics. I also decided to delay putting up my other daily comic until I have more strips done, because it seems like it won't be very good without a large chunk to get introduced. I'm also about to start inking the first part of my story comic, I decided writing a 30 page comic just doesn't work for me so I'm going to do 15 page installments instead which will hopefully encourage me to make it longer than just two issues.

Anyways, that's all fer now folks!

Comics!

Okay, so my regular scanner doesn't want to connect right now so I'm not uploading my sketchbook pages, but I did use the nicer but slower scanner to start importing one of my ideas.

A daily warm-up comic strip! This one is really crappy looking, I don't know if it was the ink or I was using the wrong side of the paper or the paper sucks or what but the next one was done correctly:

So I'm doing one of these every morning hopefully to get ready for the day and get a little brush practice everyday, I'm hoping they'll be funny, but they might devolve into simple studies or possibly a story of some sort, I don't know I've only made two so far.

If you want to follow these, I'm probably not going to post many on this blog, I set up a tumblr, I'd like to find a way to make a traditional webcomic set-up but I don't know where, so for now it's at: WakeUpAirplanes.tumblr.com

I also wanted to share my favorite videogame song at the moment,

I don't think I ever made it this far in the first Sonic, I'm pretty bad at games really, but I love the music and I like playing when there are other people to play with.

A page a day

I haven't gotten much doodling time in recently, most of last week I spent working on a book report, and when I wasn't doing that I was either going to work or working on music or my other now 2 extra projects, which I'm not ready to post about yet. So just a few pages of sketches from during class the past week. I also bought New Super Mario Bros. Wii which will probably bite out a good amount of my time.

I really like newsprint, it takes the pencils so well and looks really nice.

Last, a couple work doodles.

That's all for now folks, but I'll probably start posting one of the two projects after thanksgiving, it's a daily thing but I don't want to start sharing until I'm sure that I'll be doing it daily, so I'm working on making it a habit and just refining my ability to do it. The other project probably won't be finished until mid-December if I can get to the pace I wanted to be at, but I'm already kind of behind. Luckily it's mostly because I have so much stuff that I have to do besides that and not because I'm ignoring it and putting it off.

Art Slump Broken?

This first stuff is from Monday last week, before I got swamped with work, school and other projects.

And here are the few blogable results from the block.

It had a lot to do with I just did not feel like drawing at all, so things came out terrible.

The block started to break in history class on monday, luckily

But now I'm out of practice so everything is very awkward and not what I want.
But at least it's becoming fun again.

Besides the Song A Day thing, I have one other project I'm working on, but I probably won't post anything from it until after thanksgiving, until then I'm not entirely sure I'm going to keep up with it, but it probably won't be until next year that I set it up.

I have a couple other ideas, but I haven't started them at all, mostly because I don't really have enough time right now, especially since I took up a job painting the windows at work, which is going terribly since the paint they bought is for decorating glassware I'm pretty certain, so yeah.

Anyways, good news now, an awesome Talking Heads/American Psycho cover:

I never would have thought to put these together, but Miles Fisher does an amazing job.

That's all fer now folks, but if you have a Tumblr let me know so we can be tumbl-buds.

Music Instead

So I'm not sure what drawings I have that are new and what are worth scanning, so for now this post won't contain any drawings. Instead I'd like to mention this:

I've begun trying to make a song a day; unfortunately blogger doesn't allow audio from what I can tell, so I started a tumblr account: http://wetuneairplanes.tumblr.com/ the first four songs are up, and hopefully I'll be able to come up with one a year. I'm trying to spend about an hour each day coming up with a new song, but we'll see how long I can keep it up.

That's all fer now, Folks!

Starting off, a few quick Mega Man doodles, I like the way he looks in the first games, I don't get why people draw him taller, he looks a lot better as a short dude. I guess Mega Man X is taller, but he looks awkward to me if he's drawn too tall and skinny.

These were drawn during my Treehouse of Horror Marathon

Then some lazy day of Halloween doodles, with two Geoweasel characters.

Yesterday I watched Die Hard for the first time, and it was great, further proving my theory that Bruce Willis is infallible, but hard to draw.

Finally, enjoy some Dick Dale, I think I'm going to make this my alarm clock starting tomorrow, what better way to wake up.

That's all fer now, Folks.

Friday October 30th

I watched Tales of Terror with Vincent Price and very awesomely Peter Lorre on Tuesday night, I didn't expect Lorre to show up so that was a fun treat. Decent movie, but more or less just Poe's tales retold with Vincent Price and other actors, it's on Hulu.
Vincent was hilarious as the wine tasting guy, I forgot his name.

These are from lazy Wednesday night listening to SModcast, mindlessly doodling very very slowly.

This page is all I have to show for yesterday, from in class. I need to find a way to not feel so sleepy in government, but it's all stuff everyone should already know. The structure of our government isn't that complicated, the crap that the pull is.
Hopefully I'll have some new stuff tomorrow, although I'm planning on watching the first 11 Simpson's Tree House of Horrors since I bought the first 11 seasons when they were on sale this Summer and haven't really watched more than the the first two and a few episodes I wanted to see again from the later Seasons.
That's all Fer now Y'all!

Back wit moar:
These first ones are at least a week old and are composited from two seperate pages I never drew more on, they just sat on my desk for a while.

The next are monday doodles during history class.

I'm so glad the sea green really cheap colored pencil I grabbed on my way out the door worked so well on this paper, very surprised.
Then some today doodles during government.

Finally, these are from my DS using the colors homebrew, the lines are done in there and then I colored them in photoshop.
It's not as nice as having my wacom working again, but it sure beats the mouse.
Computer mice that is.
Anyways, not much going on,

This is my new alarm clock song:

That's all fer now d00ds!

UPDATE:
I was going to watch Nosferatu again and try to do some doodles from it, but since it hasn't happened yet, and since I don't know when it will, I'll just post this image I photoshopped of a sparkling Max Schreck. I don't know much about making gifs, but I couldn't find this on the internet anywhere else so I made it myself. Enjoy:

more drawing less excuses

Not as much stuff as I would have liked to have, but my brother came to town for the weekend, so yeah, here's some stuff though.

Warm-up straight-ahead with a pen I found in the car.

Finally, some work doodles.
Later d00ds.

Woah, late late late

A lot of stuff to post, but a lot is condensed so let's make this quick:

First some digidoodles, these might be the last for a while unfortunately, I managed to pull my tablet off my desk while standing up twice on Saturday or Sunday and now my computer either won't recognize it, or if it gets moved it disconnects, so :[

I was thinking about getting a new one, but I was hoping to keep this around if I ever get a laptop so I can doodle on the go, I guess not.
Some Stuff

Roky Erikson inspired stuff, that's not really what he looks like, I just guessed off of one video I looked up, but it apparently was just in that video that he had awesome mutton chops:

Now the wonk sets in, these next two were at school, I don't know if I was worried about my history test, but I felt like I couldn't draw at all, the first page on top is actually from two weeks ago, but by that time I was getting derivative:

So I switched to ball point and notebook and just tried to burn it out:
These look better to me now than they did orginally
These next ones not so much:
Which brings me to today:
And today I decided that I wanted some other character to draw, and this is what happened:
That colored image isn't quite how I want her, but it's the most clean although it's also the most boring.

I'm still trying to get more expressions than just boredom, bored and happy, bored and angry along with some better poses, gotta get through the blah.

That's all fer now folks!

Stuff and Such

This post is the largest in some time, so I will only add brief annotations, plus I have lots of stuff to do today still.

Doodle Doodle Doodle, I realized that I don't draw much super expressive stuff, I mostly just make people that I think look funny but they aren't doing anything funny, I started trying to work some verve into these last two pages, but I don't think it worked out.
This one has a couple Flapjacks and Kimbos
This one is from the sketchbook I doodle in when I wake up to get warmed up, most of the stuff in there isn't worth scanning, but I liked this guy's teeth.
Finally practicing with a real brush and markers for the first time in a while.
Some Digital doodles, also kind of warm-ups:

This Kimbo was painted on my DS on the way to dinner, slightly cleaned and colored in photoshop afterward.

Then a digidoodle cleaned and colored for fun:

Finally, this song has been stuck in my head since yesterday morning:

Anyways, that's all fer now folks!

50th Post

Can't believe it's already here! 50 Posts! Really? I think these numbers are inflating themselves, I seriously can't recall having made that many, I've made maybe 20 since I started again, but before then I had that many really? Okay.

Anyways, more doodles:

These aren't exactly in order, that first one is from this afternoon, but a couple of these are from last night.

Still need to work on not sitting around reading webcomics all day and start drawing from the time I get up.

It would probably work better if I could start getting up before 11 too.

I watched my favourite movie this afternoon, Chris Tucker moves around so much I wasn't able to get a good look at his face, need to work on that, now I really want to just watch more movies with him, but I don't know if I should watch that much Rush Hour.

Couple Teenage Mutant Flip the Frogs

Finally a couple from the lil' dewdull book:

That's all fer now, Folks!

Blah Blah

Doodle Dump:

These all feel really stiff, need to loosen up the poses.

That guy in the Don't Copy that Floppy video makes some hilarious faces.

These last few I drew while watching X-Men Origins, probably obviously.

Finally, a couple pages from that small doodlebook which I haven't used much recently and two quick oekaki doodles.

Not writing much this time, need to go loosen up poses, need to draw more fun stuff less stiff awkwardness.

Th@s awl fer nao phullks.

Warrior in Woolworths

First off, a couple really quick unstudied drawings of Manny and Kahn by the awesome Hat Lieberman check out the cartoon here.

I watched the second Harry Potter movie on friday night, and now I'm officially hooked.

The only thing that bothers me is I keep trying to relate it to Charlie Brown, I know everyone wants to pretend to be Snoopy / Harry Potter, but in reality, we're all Charlie Brown, but who is Charlie Brown in this universe?

Is it Ron? Or is it Neville Longbottom? Or is it that guy that explodes things everytime he tries to cast a spell?
I despise Neville Longbottom, I hope he never becomes a real wizard.
A couple Cromartie High inspired badasses:

Finally, a few digital doodles, haven't used the wacom in a couple weeks so this feels like drawing with a disembodied left hand, wish these had turned out better. Need to practice everyday.

Finally, I heard this song the other day, and it's been stuck in my head ever since:

That's all for now, Folks!
