Short Post

Short post today. Need to finish up a weeks worth of inking I put off and start working on a comic I was hoping to have done on Saturday for Free Comic Book Day.

So here goes:

I bought a new brush pen today, and it's really working out great, so expect more brush doodles, I might have to switch to something slicker than copy paper though it is kind of feathering on these.

Some brush doodles half penbrush half real brush:

And finally, Doctor Who:

That's it for now, more stuff soon, even though I'm working on that comic I'll probably manage to squeeze out a few doodles to paste up soon.

I leave you with this which I stole from who knows, facebook sucks at credits:

UPDATE

A great cover of one of my favorite (at the moment) Daft Punk songs:

Twin Sister - "Something About Us (Daft Punk)" from Ian Perlman on Vimeo.

So the key to being productive is staying up until 4 in the morning and then sleeping until noon, in this way I've gotten everything I need to done and had time for doodling! Of course this might be because I have a lot less to do than I have in the past few weeks.

Today I got some new col-erase pencils, finally colors other than blue and red, needless to say I went a bit nuts.

I tried to control myself though, so it's mostly just light blue and purple that got added in with great joy, I wish they had given me a violet instead of three browns though.

This was a drawing for class, we were supposed to look at works by 3 artists and do something with the ideas found in one or a combination of their works, the only one I can remember off the top of my head is Robert Longo, who I chose to take my idea from based on this image. Initially it was going to be based on the Charlie Brown Christmas dance scene, but I felt like I was copying too much and even in Bill Melendez's animation, Peanuts is all about the lines to me, so I used that to inspire the poses and just made a non-specific Fleischer-esque dude. This is our only open-ended assignment so I decided I was going to have fun with it.

and here are some little crappy comics, I was going to try to draw 200 comics in a short time span, but I got to three before I decided I didn't have time to do this until summer break.

finally cool videos:

this is amazing

and one more

and then there's this:

okay, that's all for now

Drawings Finally

Okay, I don't know why I didn't upload these before, I've had a few since tuesday at least

This was a sketchbook assignment from art class, just charcoal study of a spoon, presumably how light reflects on metal, I might take pictures of my other art stuff eventually, it's finally getting to where it's not completely exercise, but there is only a month to go.

I had this in my head all day when I drew that picture of Lincoln above, so I made a comic about it. Obviously this was inspired by Kate Beaton's "Hark, A Vagrant"

And here are some white board doodles, I got this thing at the dollar store so I could doodle and possibly make notes, but mostly I've just drawn on it and then forgot about it.

I'll try to get some new stuff up soon. I'm also hoping to make a comic for free comic book day, I have an idea but it's more dependent upon how much free time I have over the next two weeks.

update:
Couple of things I forgot to post in previous updates, just some digi doodles

video time

Okay, so I don't have much to show and don't feel like scanning, but I feel that I should update so here are some videos I've enjoyed recently

Anyways, I'll have something to post soon, I thought I'd have less going on by now but I seem to be making trouble for myself.

EDIT

Just a few more:

Memoryhouse - Lately from Jamie Harley on Vimeo.

EDIT 2:

Umm, I don't know how I never noticed this conciously before, but the original Austin Powers soundtrack is really really good.

Cardigans - Carnival

The Lightining Seeds - You Showed Me

Broadcast - The Book Lovers

Sergio/Brasil '66 - Mais Que Nada

Or maybe that's just nostalgia because I loved that movie as a kid. Although I don't think you can go wrong with incorporating Nina Persson into anything

19 Doodles AGAIN?

More doodles, I'm done with my animation drawing just have to do the backgrounds, hopefully I'll be able to post it soon.

I was looking through Bob Flynn's flickr set the other day.

This rabbit is inspired directly by Bob Flynn's Easter Bunny Story his is much more frightening, I went for cute, I'm pretty sure Bob's is the real one though.

That book only had 10 sheets folded in half no drawing on the back, so 20 "pages" in 2 classes isn't that bad.

I think I stole the top part of this last one from a Bob Flynn drawing too, his stuff is just great.

Check out this amazing cover by Dokaka:

Also, I was looking through my list of music favorites on Youtube and found this:

And another great favorite:

I also have 5 favorites for Bela Lugosi is Dead, so yeah..

Once again, Twitter, I'm still trying to figure out what I should use it for, but add me and we'll find out! http://twitter.com/weflewairplanes
