Warrior in Woolworths

First off, a couple really quick unstudied drawings of Manny and Kahn by the awesome Hat Lieberman check out the cartoon here.

I watched the second Harry Potter movie on friday night, and now I'm officially hooked.

The only thing that bothers me is I keep trying to relate it to Charlie Brown, I know everyone wants to pretend to be Snoopy / Harry Potter, but in reality, we're all Charlie Brown, but who is Charlie Brown in this universe?

Is it Ron? Or is it Neville Longbottom? Or is it that guy that explodes things everytime he tries to cast a spell?
I despise Neville Longbottom, I hope he never becomes a real wizard.
A couple Cromartie High inspired badasses:

Finally, a few digital doodles, haven't used the wacom in a couple weeks so this feels like drawing with a disembodied left hand, wish these had turned out better. Need to practice everyday.

Finally, I heard this song the other day, and it's been stuck in my head ever since:

That's all for now, Folks!

Werk Düdels

I watched the first Harry Potter last night and drew a bit during the movie, I realized I actually watched the second half of this around xmas at my friends house, and I think this is the one we watched in German class, but I don't really remember that far back:

I feel like I'm really late to the party, and wish I hadn't looked up anything about what's going to happen, please no spoilers, I should be caught up to the newest movie by the end of the week or so.

This morning I spent a while doing quick drawings of Flapjack just to get a better handle of what he looks like, most of these are really bad, I didn't spend a lot of time cleaning them up, and it probably would have been better to do some actual construction, but this was still fun.

A lot of those are redrawn from the fun storyboards at Sean Szeles blog then I just looked for clips on youtube to work from.

Finally, some work doodles, I had one more that was probably the only one I really liked, but I don't know who ended up with it.

Those peppers at the bottom are based on this really awful "mascot"-ish thing we have on this e-mail program we have, I don't know where they found it but it's absolutely repulsive:

I would get plastered all the time too if I were him.

Anyways, I shouldn't still be awake, so That's all fer now folks.

Sketch200! .. ?

I don't know why but I don't really get much done on Tuesdays despite having the whole day off, my excuse this week is I have a slight cold.

I guess I mostly just read blogs, but I did decide to whip out this awesome brown paper again, I saw on someone's site that they had a sketchbook with this stuff and it reminded me that I have a stack of it sitting under my desk that I only used one sheet of maybe a year or so ago.

I have lots of things I bought that are in severe disuse, and despite recognizing this, I bought this new sketchbook last night for these next drawings:

I like drawing while listening to This American Life I don't know if it helps or not though. This is the 200th picture labeled as SKETCH, I'm not sure what that means anymore though:

I'm not sure what I've been doing today either, haven't done much though, oh well still 5 hours left in the day.

Also, I've decided that starting tonight I'm going to watch all the Harry Potter movies, partially because I want to know what it's all about and be able to understand any jokes that I run into about the series, and partially because this song is stuck in my head even though I don't really understand it:

and so it has begun..

Mondai Dewdells

These first few are actually Sunday, I really need to get back to getting some practice drawing from life instead of just making things up, at least to just learn some perspective and find new shapes in peoples faces.

Amy Poehler in Parks and Recreation:

These are from Monday in the sketchbook I made a while back:

This book is weird though, the paper seems thick, but it's really not.

Or I press incredibly hard, but that might have just been that one pencil was terrible.

When I switched to a new one I stopped leaving huge ridges in the pages, those were so nasty.

I don't like most of these, I need to either swap mediums or try to find new things to draw.

I watched the original Cape Fear last night, and drew one quick Robert Mitchum as Max Cady:

It's hard to beleive that he was also the hero in Out of the Past, he seems so utterly despicable in Cape Fear.

I like these two songs a lot:

Blessa - Toro Y Moi

and more so:

EDIT: But wait, there's more:

I meant to take these pictures a couple weeks ago, but never got around to it:

These pictures are still a lot crappier than I'd like to have gotten, but I don't know how to take photographs of sketchbooks and not get shitty lighting but still manage to hold the camera still enough to not use flash.

These are in a 11x14 sketchbook that's too large for my scanner, and I don't feel like putting them together digitally, most aren't worth that sort of effort.

I might scan in this last one though, I kind of like it despite how messy it is. I feel weird trying to color the backgrounds because the only thing I remember from the boyscouts code of traits or whatever was thrift, can't use up my markers all at once :\

Moar doodling:

The first few of these next ones are a little older, but I felt like putting them up anyways:

Trying to finish up this moleskine so I can start a different sketchbook, not sure if I'll use it at school instead of paper or not though:

I would kind of like to have a sketchbook with me in case anyone is like "wut you drawin'?" that way I have more than one or two pages to show them:

Also, I've been watching this a whole bunch since it was posted at drawn.ca, there's just so much to like about it:

Also, you should go here and watch all of these Mameshiba videos, this is my favourite though:

That is all for now folks!

Lots of Random Crap

And by Crap I do mean really crappy drawings, where to begin?
This was chopped out real quick before work while sending messages back and forth, forgot to practice the tablet yesterday so I gave it a whirl today, out of touch:
This is from Wednesday during math:
A couple awful Ron Paul's from his Daily Show appearance and some other crapoodles:
I don't know how to refill Pitt Brush Pens, so I just abuse them after they won't work again:
The last of that little scrap paper book I had on my desk, I really like it and have decided to make a second one:
5 minute doodling in a notebook where I was taking history notes, I didn't notice before now it oddly cut off at the pink line:
This has been sitting on my desk for a while, so I scanned it to convince myself it didn't need to be on my desk:
And my new scrap paper book for doodling:
Next time I'll hopefully have more coherent prettier stuff, kind of not feeling it the last two days, a combination of bad sleep habits and cutting back on coffee to attempt to fix sleep paterns, but I need the coffee to get up in the morning so it didn't work. Supposedly it takes 3 weeks to get into a routine, maybe if I just stop sleeping for three weeks I won't have to?

Also, I did get one good thing done today: MOAR CONSTRUCTION!! <- link to constructianblog
